Outdoor living
Here in the southern hemisphere, winter is almost upon us. There's a definite chill in the air, even here in sunny Brisbane, and I'm already dreaming of spring. Of course, reading all of my favourive blogs from our northern hemisphere blog buddies does nothing but whet my appetite for barbecues, spring blossoms (oh, those gorgeous peonies and lilacs!) and days spent soaking up the sun. So, here are some gorgeous outdoor rooms to keep us going until the warmer weather rolls around again.

I love this time of the year , I feel in Qld now the scorching sun & humidity has finally gone we can enjoy these type of outdoor settings that I find just too hot to do in summer. Thankyou , now you have inspired me with these images to take advantage of it while I can......

The little ones keep asking me if we can have a BBQ in their short sleeve princess dresses..I'm trying to explain just how cold winter is! It's pretty chilly here in Melbourne..all the painting is keeping me warm though, and aching! I need one of your spray gun things, I could just spray the entire inside and be done with it..Rachaelxx
ReplyDeleteOh you are a cruel, cruel woman!! It's freezing here in Canberra but nowhere near as bad as it's going to get. There's nothing like eating outside on a gorgeous day...but it may be a while before my courtyard gets some company! Have a happy start to the week my friend...how's the kitchen coming along??
ReplyDeleteGosh, winter is definitely upon us down here in Tassie! We have had frosts over the weekend! As much as I love the woodfire and cosiness, I'd quite fancy sitting out in the sun (with a hat) at one of these gorgeous table settings!
ReplyDeleteHope you have a great week!
Oh Kerri, my heart is aching looking at these images. I'm really not coping with (well it's not even winter yet) but this drop in temp. Can't wait for spring, my fav time of year. Love all these pics. Have a great Monday Kerri.

I love all those pics Kerri. It's been surprisingly beautiful in Melbourne. Chilli at dawn and dusk though lovely and sunny throughout the days. I'm sure that won't last much longer!

I guess I still haven't acclimatised to the Queensland weather because the locals are all saying how cold it is and I feel just pleasantly warm. We got through the whole winter last year with no heating whatsoever.
ReplyDeleteWhat great images Kerri. I especially like the cane couches with the striped cushions.

Hi Kerry,
ReplyDeleteWell, after the longest winter that I can remember, we had the hottest day of the year which hit the 80'sF, so these gorgeous outdoor spaces are perfect !!!! Sorry, but we don't get this sort of weather a lot in the U.K. so I have to tell everyone !!
Have a lovely week and keep warm. haha XXXX
Lovely! I'm with Karyn on the heat - this is a much more pleasant time of year where we are. It is starting to get a bit cold in the mornings and evenings though - but perfect for a lazy lunch outside. I would happily settle down to lunch at any of those gorgeous spots!
ReplyDeleteYes, it has gotten chilly down here near Newcastle. We have got the jumpers out although no need for heaters. I used to live in the Blue Mountains so I know exactly what you guys from Canberra & Tassie are saying, I don't miss the frost one little bit. Have a great week everyone!!!
ReplyDeleteHi Kerri, I needed something to warm me up after my freezing weekend! Thanks for the cheery shots. Your magazine should be on its way from the USA, it can take a little while to reach you but it's coming...
ReplyDeleteGorgeous photographs! I can't wait until the day I get to visit the southern hemisphere, but for now I'm happy to head into the summer months here in the northern hemisphere. :)
ReplyDeleteI'm with Kerry! This is a cruel post ;) Freezing and overcast here in Armidale! What I wouldn't give to enjoy a lovely outdoor dinner in a warm climate right now!! Gorgeous pics Kerri, thank you for sharing. Hope you have a fabulous week ~ Tina xx

All gorgeous but I particularly like the "green" room". I love your art - do you sell it?
ReplyDeleteOne of my dearest friends in this great wide world is a native Kiwi and I love thinking in two seasons when I write to her, and she to me. I wish her Happy Autumn while she wishes me Happy Spring! We are planning to visit these lovely friends one year at Christmastime as her description of barbecuing on Christmas is just so different ~ but wonderful sounding ~ to us N. Hemisphere folks. I live in the northern U.S., so springtime is especially welcome and your images have me dreaming of the days ahead.
ReplyDeleteHappy Monday! xx P&H
Wow dear Kerry! I just love the first pic!!!!!
ReplyDeleteHugs!
