I'd like you to meet someone....

Have you met my design assistant? He's blonde, intelligent, handsome, and very attentive...sounds like the perfect man, doesn't he? Meet Darcy.

big boy pics

and a couple of gratuitous baby pics, just because they're so cute!

Ok, so he's probably not the ideal assistant. He sometimes likes to chew the paintbrushes if I'm not looking, and yesterday thought it was a fabulous idea to run off with my paint-soaked rag, hoping for a quick game of catch-me-quick-before-I-rip-it-to-shreds. But he really is the most gorgeous boy, and is a huge part of our family. And how could you get angry at him, just look at that face!

So, while I'm finishing off the kitchen reno...(you know, the quick knock-it-over-in-a-couple-of-days reno? yep, still going but almost there, thank goodness!) Darcy is sleeping assisting while I give the spray gun a serious workout. This old silky oak mirror was in desperate need of a spot of zhushing, so it got the white treatment too.

Right, so I have rather dramatic plans for this one. I did hint about it in my kitchen inspirations pics, so eagle-eyed readers may already know what I'm planning. Let's hope it looks as good as the original!

Have a great weekend everyone,

  2. What an adorable puppy you have! It's so nice to have a companion around who isn't fussed by constant reno-ing, isn't it? Can't wait to see what you do with that mirror.

  10. Dear Kerri,
I LOVE Darcy. He is my kinda dog. I watched 'Marley and Me' the other night. Such a simple little film but, I loved it. Darcy reminds me of Marley. He must be a tremendous help to you when decorating !!!! haha. I can imagine he gets into all sorts of trouble, but he must be very easy to forgive !
I think that I know what you will be doing with the mirror..... after Kerry's silver-leafing, I doubt that it will get that treatment !! Get cracking as I'm desperate to see everything finished !! XXXX

  18. Darcy looks like a beautiful boy. It's nice to have a bit of company when you are painting and projecting isn't it. Especially when the company just looks at you adoringly with big brown eyes and never points out any mistakes! Looking forward to the mirror reveal.

  22. Your "assistant" is fabulous and that face, ah! Adorable. Count yourself lucky. An assistant who chews up rags and paintbrushes is way better than one who blabs all day. Are dogs not the perfect companion? Yes, I would say so. Love your blog.
