I may add just a little more shading, but for now I think I'll just live with it for a bit. I'm also thinking of separating it into two or three smaller works, then framing them in simple white box frames, with white mats. Either way, I thoroughly enjoyed the process, so a few watercolour studies may soon be for sale as well as my usual works. The kids had a rare weekend off from sport, so I was able to get a lovely, uninterrupted stretch of painting in ...bliss!
Hope you all had a great weekend too, and over the next few days I'll share some new projects I've been working on. See you soon,
Beautiful ...
ReplyDeleteThat's beautiful Kerri...very ethereal. Watercolours have such a different look and feel don't they. Just beautiful, as we would expect from you! Really look forward to seeing more.
ReplyDeleteThat's lovely, Kerri!
ReplyDeleteIt is beautiful! I love the softness of it!! Gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteI have to admit... there is a teeny- tiny little part of me that is looking forward to my girls going to school. I would love some uninterrupted paint time. :-)
I cannot wait to see your prints!
Have a lovely week!
Melanie
You are talented aren't you? How about you come and be artist in residence at my home for a year? If only..Rachaelxx
ReplyDeleteGorgeous - so soft and dreamy looking! KG
ReplyDeleteJust gorgeous Kerri, and I love your idea of separating them into white box frams, that would look beautiful. Can't believe you haven't watercoloured for years, you look like a pro!
ReplyDeleteHave a great monday,
Jxx
Now I can make some things from scratch. Just from my imagination. But I would be hopeless with a brush in my hand. I can't even paint furniture with a brush without making a humongous mess. I stick to spray paint. So you have my admiration!

Beautiful painting! So soft and yet bold with the shadowing! I haven't done watercolor in years either. I used to love to do them but life has just turned me in a different direction. Hopefully one day I will pick up the brushes again. Good for you for going back to it, you are very talented! Also, YEAH that you had a free weekend. Those are hard to find, especially with kids! I think the idea of separating them would look very cool! Have fun!
ReplyDeleteHi Kerri!
ReplyDeleteWow, this is absolutely beautiful!
I just love the moody, evocative feel of this lovely piece. You are quite a talent!
Have a wonderful week!
Hugs,
Anne
I really like the simplicity and pale washiness in this, Kerri. I used to do a lot of watercolour painting as a teen but haven't in years. It's a nice, fresh medium. I hope you find some time to do more in the near future :)
ReplyDeleteVery talented Kerri... I love them. Whatever you decide, they will be gorgeous.I look forward to seeing what you decide. Thank you for your lovely comment on my ottoman post.

You're so clever Kerri. What a lovely painting. It must be so nice to be able to keep the art you produce rather than throwing it in the bin like I do!

I really like these. The colors are incredible and I can envision them on my living room wall. Stunning work!
ReplyDeleteDear Kerri,
ReplyDeleteI really sound as if I'm sucking up but, I really do love your work. It is so calming and peaceful. Only you know if it needs anything else doing....if it needs a little tweaking..... but, whatever you do, it is a great painting. XXXX
Very nice Kerri, hope you had fun! Isn't it great to have a break from weekend sport! We are now done until next year - yay!
ReplyDeleteWow, you have some fantastic work here, Kerri. I love how you can do something different (like watercolours) and still turn out something incredible like this. You talented thing, you!
ReplyDeleteWow...this is stunning! I am hosting a jewelry giveaway on my blog. Would love to see you there!
ReplyDeleteI like it just the way it is. Maybe it's time to dust off the paint tubes and try try again.
ReplyDeletePS I meant my dusting off the tubes paint around here.
ReplyDeleteKerri, you are so talented! Your artwork is simply beautiful.

Beautiful, moody, subtle watercolours - I so love the softness of these washes. Wish I could paint... it's harder than it looks from such a flowing result.
