Torture

I'm off to subject myself to untold torture this morning. I broke the corner of my tooth, so now I'll be dragged kicking and screaming to visit my lovely dentist. I know I sound like the biggest sook on earth, but that's not true at all. I'm the survivor of a hellish 30 hour labour, so I'm no stranger to a little pain and discomfort. But after a few bad childhood experiences at the hands of my old dentist, it's a phobia I haven't managed to conquer. Wish me luck. And let's hope he doesn't arrive looking like this joker, or I'll be out of there faster than you can say 'root canal'.

Not funny Mr Dentist, just plain creepy.

  2. I am with you.....I fear the dentist more than giving birth. I have found a new one that babies me and waits for me to breath and calm down........he must hate my visits.

  3. That dentist would have me running screaming. very creepy indeed. I hope I don't have nightmares tonight. Goodluck Kerri, if the dentist wears one of those masks, get out quick.

  6. Something else we have in common! I have an almost pathological fear of dentists stemming from a particularly horrendous childhood experience involving an extraction and an abscess...wishing you well my friend :))

  7. What is the pattern on his mask - a vegetable peeler? A penis print?

  8. Dear Kerri, I hope it's not as bad as you're anticipating. I share your phobia which is why I have 2 broken teeth that have needed attention for quite a while (think years!)
Fingers crossed it all goes well for you :o)

  11. Nothing quite beats the relief you feel after you have been to the dentist, you'll be fine and feel great when the ordeal is over. You can do it!

  16. Ouch - I'm not a fan of the dentist either. Funny, my husband broke the corner off one of his teeth last week too. Hope you're not in too much pain. Michelle

  18. Oh you poor thing! I hate going to the dentist too. My old dentist used to have ceiling posters of all sorts of horrid gum disease and bad teeth for you to look at - yuck.
    Hope it wasn't too traumatic.
