and popped it on the wall in my daughter's bedroom. I do apologise for the terrible photo - it's the only one I have at the moment, as my former design assistant Darcy...
hmm, butter wouldn't melt!
...decided it would be great fun to have a chew on my camera's memory card. Thankfully, I have most photos saved to my computer, but I've lost some that I've taken over the past week or so. Of course, how could I be angry with him - just look at that face. And he was having such a lovely time, throwing it in the air and chasing it all over the studio, I didn't have the heart to be upset with him. But needless to say, a new memory card is on my shopping list!
Oh, and on a completely different note, I thought I'd share a pic of a new painting. It's loosely based on paper cut artwork, and as a little experiment, I thought it might be fun to paint a watercolour version:
'Paperie in Turquoise'
I'm still deciding whether to add a series of similar works to my Etsy shop, so I'd love some honest feedback from you all. I think this design could be tweaked a little to make cute Christmas tree cards in different colours:
'Paperie in Magenta'
'Paperie in Indigo'
So, what do you think? Honest feedback please my lovelies, I trust your judgement. Think of yourselves as my official market research team - albeit ones who are seriously underpaid, but greatly appreciated!

Wow, you're so clever Kerri, I love that idea of hanging the rug up against the wall. The whole room is styled to perfection :-)
ReplyDeleteI love your designs too, especially the turquoise one.
xx
I love the bedrom makeover! And I noticed your new print on FB last night! Very cool, the boarder is a lovely touch, I think it would work very well as a Christmas tree/card. You are really on a roll, everything you're creating is beautiful!

Hiiiiiii, love the trees, don't care for the border, too busy, it's taking away from your beautiful work..... you asked ;)
ReplyDeleteTry no border, or perhaps a straight handdrawn line / border.

I really love the paintings. Know why? They're happy! Your daughter's room looks great...I love those lamps to bits. And Darcy? Trade him for the vampire slayer any day :)
ReplyDeleteYour canvas rug looks just divine as a wall hanging and perfect in your daughters room! And I love the 'paperie' in the magenta :) x
ReplyDeleteKerri...LOVE THEM BOTH...the painted canvas floor rug looks absolutely stunning hung up..and your new watercolour prints are a real seller..awesome! x
ReplyDeleteKerri, your daughters room looks so beautiful! Love the floor rug as art and also love the 2 other wall hangings. xx
ReplyDeleteI love your idea to tweak your paintings (which are beautiful) into Christmas cards. All of your paintings are so intricate and detailed - you have serious artistic talent :-)
ReplyDeleteBummer about your memory card. I don't know why Labs feel the need to eat everything. Today, our Lab chewed the dental floss, toothbrush, and toothpaste that I just got from the dentist this morning. Now if she could just figure out how to use them properly, I would't have to brush her teeth anymore ;-)

I love the rug above the bed...its my favourite so far.
ReplyDeleteThose new prints of yours are gorgeous....they are a little Scandinavian for my eye.......I can imagine them in a rustic frame in a natural setting with a white sheepskin rug nearby. Lovely.
Hi Kerri, I love your daughters room it looks great, especially those bedside lamps ;-) As for the artwork well again I think these will be perfect for your Etsy shop along with your Chinoiserie series. ;-)

ReplyDeleteI shouldn't laugh but look at Darcy, too cute!!
ReplyDeleteLove the the prints, gorgeous!
Okay, so I am not claiming to be an ARTIST by any stretch but I do love your designs and your art. The only thing that I think would add a real touch of whimsy and magic is a tiny little bird, in a contrasting colour, sitting on a branch. Just something small and unexpected. Just my humble opinion and only because I am part of your market research team!
