Outdoor living - in winter
Because I'm insanely jealous of all of the lovely, summery, outdoorsy images posted by my northern hemisphere blog buddies at the moment, my plan for our new verandah area includes a gorgeous outdoor fireplace. Here in Brisbane, winter can be just glorious, so why not make the most of it? Of course, what better way to whet the appetite than by posting some inspirational images? I'd be happy with any of these beauties...hope my hubby is reading this!

Here in the Northeast we aren't sitting outside in winter with an outdoor fireplace however ours is not large. It is cement but freestanding so it's not built into anything. In the fall and spring we grab a jacket and make some hot chocolate...I would like a room that maybe had some outdoor fabric sides that could be rolled down to hold some heat in...One can dream.
ReplyDeleteOooh Kerri, I'm with you. Any of these lovelies would be a beautiful space to spend long lazy hours at any time of the year.
ReplyDeleteEnjoy the long weekend.

They all look really lovely, especially images #3 and #4 - I'd take any of them now though - we're still without a heater and all your lovely picks make me long for ours even more :) Have a happy Monday x
ReplyDeleteNice inspiration, I especially love the one by the pool. Brisbane has gorgeous winter weather so a space like that would definately get used year round...I like it!!!!
ReplyDeleteHi Kerri, love all of those inspiring photos. We have some serious deck envy in this house... We have great views just no deck front or back. Hoping to rectify this within the five years!!!!
ReplyDeleteHi Kerri, love all these pics! I would love an outdoor fireplace (not v bubba friendly though) so guess what, we got one of those gas outdoor heaters yesterday for our deck. I'm loving it! had breakky out on the deck this morning! Yay! I hope you're enjoying your long weekend!

ReplyDeleteKerri, I am hoping to put an outdoor room in our new home in years to come...a must for Brisbane I say...thank you for the inspiration.
ReplyDeleteThat first picture is just amazing!
ReplyDeleteAn outdoor fireplace would be magic, what a way to make that outdoor room another place to enjoy all year round.....I am hoping to create some sort of space like this in my new build, very inspiring.
ReplyDeleteOh, now you're talking! And the best thing about outdoor rooms - clean-up is minimal!
ReplyDeleteGosh, that would be just lovely! I really quite like the rustic ones :)
ReplyDeleteLovely Kerri, Im hoping to add one of those at the end of our renovation , have lots of pictures put away. Maybe by next winter , fingers crossed xx
ReplyDeleteSo glad I stumbled across your blog - and a fellow Brisbane girl too! Your images are beautiful and so is your artwork. I would absolutely love an outdoor fireplace ... we have almost finished renovating our Brisbane home but unfortunately there was no room in the budget for one. Look forward to your next post. Michelle
ReplyDeleteKerri, this is what I love about Australia..that seamless transition from inside out. Wonderful images:)

Your blog is gorgeous, absolutely beautifull.I m your newest follower.Greetings from Europe-Croatia:)
ReplyDeleteHi Kerri,
ReplyDeleteOMG I could never describe our winters as glorious... long, cold, windy and snowy. I envy that about your down under weather.
Love, love... rooms 4(romanic) and 6(romanic plus pool). They look perfectly perfect to curl up with a special someone and enjoy a nice fire, with maybe a glass or two of wine.
cheers
Susan
Gorgeous spaces... I would love an outdoor fireplace (undercover too) - next house perhaps!
ReplyDeleteKerrie: You HAD ME at the first photo ~ lovely!
ReplyDeleteSo serene and peaceful.... I can just feel the beautiful breezes of Oz on my face : ) I certainly hope that you are able to make this dream a reality. In the upper Midwest USA where I live, an outdoor fireplace wouldn't get the use that it would where you are. Keep us posted, please!
xx Suzanne
