Hamptons Style Mark II

As a follow up to yesterday's post, I thought you might like a little addition to the debate. This house is another Hamptons-inspired take on Queensland living, so let's take a tour and see what you think.

Now, for those eagle-eyed readers out there (Jenny!) you've probably realised this home bears a remarkable similarity to the one I featured yesterday - and that's because they share the same designer. Yesterday's post sparked quite a debate on furnishing styles, and which, if either, best suited the house. Personally, neither style is what I'd choose, and although I absolutely love the bones of both houses, the furnishings seemed a little heavy. So, tomorrow I'll put together a post of the pieces I'd like to see in this style of home, and I'd love you to pop in, take a look, and discuss!

  7. Who is the designer? Can they do miracles on a 70s two story house? HA!

  8. I can't see that it is Hamptons inspired. It looks like a genuine Qld style to me. I think it is so spacious that the furniture doesnt look heavy.

  9. I could not choose between the two different looks so I didn't comment! I loved them both! But I do agree with Jenny! While the similarities of the homes are clear, there is something that gives this one a bit more wow factor (for me).Is it the wall colour? Thanks for showing them to us and I look forward to seeing how you would furnish them!

  10. I agree Kerri I love the houses but not the decor. Although I prefer todays furniture. But maybe it was the clients taste that meant it went that way. I will be watching eagerly to see tomorrow's post. I am in the middle of my Hampton's bedroom makeover. I'm always looking for inspirational ideas:)

  11. Love the style, seeing we'll be building a Queenslander style homestead (never really thought it being Hamptonseque) in the country outside of Canberra, we have space so will make it more sprawlling than 2 stories. Love the high set part, that brings back so many happy memories of raising children in the tropics, playing under the house. Gorgeous inspiration, thanks!! Love Posie

  15. How high do u think the ceiling is and the window height. This reason I ask is because the windows are the exact thing I am have been dreaming in my head for our new house. Any thoughts anyone?
